Subsequent to the winding process: The artisan uses tweezers to wind and stack the lacquer threads according to the draft, creating a relief-like pattern. The curvature and density of the lines need to be precisely controlled at the details; then it undergoes curing: The object with the wound threads is dried in a dark place to set the shape of the lacquer threads; finally, gilding: A layer of gold foil or gold powder is applied to the surface of the pattern, and then polished to enhance the luster, making the finished product extremely luxurious. The entire process takes several months and tests the patience and skills of the artisan.
