"Coloniae" is a series of artifacts exploring the relationship between humans and plants. The items in the series are designed as colonial dwellings and are therefore created in a predetermined form. However, each structure is designed to interact with the plants it hosts, allowing them to cover its surface and redefine its appearance. Over time, the plants interact with the objects through their roots and leaves, eventually colonizing them. In this way, Coloniae reimagines vases (and other complementary artifacts) as content rather than containers, with plants acting as agents in the definition of hybrid beings, co-participating alongside humans.
